VDI-Xpand<\/h2>

Building bridges for migrant engineers<\/h2><\/header>

The VDI-Xpand project helps engineers (m\/f\/d) from other countries to find a suitable job in Germany.<\/p>

Although they are well educated, they often lack important contacts and knowledge about the German labour market. Both are important in order to be successful in Germany. VDI would like to help immigrant engineers and international students in higher semesters to find a suitable job as an engineer and to feel at home in Germany.<\/p>

VDI-Xpand is realised in cooperation with the\u00a0VDI District Associations Aachen<\/a>,\u00a0Bochum<\/a>,\u00a0Cologne<\/a>,\u00a0M\u00fcnsterland<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0East Westphalia-Lippe<\/a>\u00a0pilot programme in North Rhine-Westphalia. The mentoring programme is the core of the VDI sub-project\u00a0Bridging measures and qualification support for engineers<\/a>\u00a0in the IQ - Integration through Qualification funding programme. The IQ - Integration through Qualification funding programme\u00a0<\/strong>aims to sustainably improve the labour market integration of adults with a migration background.<\/p>

Description of the<\/h2>

How do immigrant engineers successfully start their careers in Germany?<\/p>

We ask this question in virtual workshops and provide insights for immigrant engineers. The speaker for the workshop is Dr Ruth Vijande from Rodriguez International Consulting.<\/p>

Who can take part?<\/p>

The event is initially aimed at VDI-Xpand mentors, but is open to the public. All interested parties are welcome to listen, learn new things and ask questions.<\/p>

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.<\/p>
