The VDI-Xpand project helps engineers (m/f/d) from other countries to find a suitable job in Germany.

Although they are well educated, they often lack important contacts and knowledge about the German labour market. Both are important in order to be successful in Germany. VDI would like to help immigrant engineers and international students in higher semesters to find a suitable job as an engineer and to feel at home in Germany.

VDI-Xpand is realised in cooperation with the VDI District Associations Aachen, Bochum, Cologne, Münsterland and East Westphalia-Lippe pilot programme in North Rhine-Westphalia. The mentoring programme is the core of the VDI sub-project Bridging measures and qualification support for engineers in the IQ - Integration through Qualification funding programme. The IQ - Integration through Qualification funding programme aims to sustainably improve the labour market integration of adults with a migration background.

We ask this question in virtual workshops and provide insights for immigrant engineers. The speaker for the workshop is Dr Ruth Vijande from Rodriguez International Consulting.

Who can take part?

The event is initially aimed at VDI-Xpand mentors, but is open to the public. All interested parties are welcome to listen, learn new things and ask questions.
